Each year at the VNFC Two-Spirit Youth Gathering, a TDOR memorial art project in the form of a four part medicine wheel is completed by the youth throughout the two days of the gathering. The art piece is hung in the gymnasium where it watches over all as an emblem of protection, resilience, and vision of a path forward to a better world for all. It has also come to commemorate the 0_CHI partnership of the Victoria Native Friendship Centre, Rainbow Health Co-operative and the University of Victoria.

The art piece is photographed as soon as it is complete and the image converted into a large banner that is the backdrop for the Trans Day of Remembrance civic memorial held each year in Bastion Square on November 20 at 6:00 pm.

The Memorial Medicine Wheel is formally presented to the community at 4:30 and the people who worked on the art piece are invited to sign the banner.

Join us as we show our appreciation of these young artists and stay for  slice of pizza afterwards.
