At 1:00 PM, we will be hosting a Volunteer Orientation. We will discuss who we are, where we came from, what we do, and how you can help as well as practical issues and next steps for those interested in volunteering with AVI.

This meeting will be facilitated by Nathan, AVI’s Volunteer Coordinator and will be held in the Boardroom at AVI, 3rd Floor, Access Health Centre, 713 Johnson Street in Victoria.

We are honoured to live, work and play on Unceded Coast Salish Territories – more specifically, on the territories of the Lukwungen speaking Esquimalt and Songhees Nations. Due to the ongoing impacts of colonization, Indigenous communities are disproportionately impacted by the health issues at the core of AVI’s work: HIV, Hep C and substance use. At AVI, we acknowledge the existence of oppression and inequality in our world, and endeavor to focus on this reality in a positive manner.

Wheelchair accessible, gender neutral washrooms will be available. As the wheelchair accessible washrooms are shared with clients, there is a possibility that there will be a line for the washroom. For further accessibility needs or any other question you’d like to touch base on prior to the day, please contact us at nathan.grills@avi.org or 250-384-2366 X 3114.

If you are interested in volunteering, but can not make this event, please complete this form so that we can keep you in the loop: http://eepurl.com/c0KSCb
