Every Saturday night in June leading up to the Victoria Pride Week Festival, the Vicarious Show will feature original and truly memorable performances from the very best local drag artists. Hosted by the legendary Henrietta Dubét, the Vicarious Show series will be available on Victoria Pride’s YouTube channel.

ABOUT THE VICARIOUS SHOW

The Vicarious Show was launched at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring of 2020. Created by local drag performers Shelita Cox and Henrietta Dubet with support from Victoria Pride, the show sought to uplift the community during a time of social isolation and support local queer artists who had lost income because of the closure of LGBTQIA2S+ venues and events.

The Vicarious Show series returns in 2021 to provide much needed entertainment and connection in the lead up to the Victoria Pride Week Festival.

ABOUT THE VICTORIA PRIDE SOCIETY

Victoria Pride creates opportunities for visibility, collaboration, ongoing conversations and celebration as we work towards equity for all people of diverse gender and sexual identities.

The Victoria Pride Society organizes on the traditional territories of the Lekwungen peoples, and we recognize the land’s historical relationships with the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples that have existed since time immemorial. Further to this acknowledgement, the Victoria Pride Society affirms that colonialism, and the attitudes and practices that have accompanied it, contributes to systemic discrimination and violence against Indigenous Peoples.
