Compensation: $20-$25 / hour depending on experience.

Purpose: As an integral part of the Communications Team, the Graphic Designer will oversee the development of visually compelling content for the Victoria Pride Festival with the possibility of ongoing work.

Responsibilities:

The responsibilities for this part-time, paid contract position include:

• Conceptualizing and creating captivating visual content based on requirements.
• Laying out various visual materials for the Victoria Pride Festival including a printed pride guide, event posters and images for social media.
• Ensuring all graphic materials align with Victoria Pride’s branding guidelines.
• Ensure graphics are properly organized in the shared drive so they are easily accessible.

While the Graphic Designer is expected to be self-motivated and independent, VPS operates as a cohesive team and the successful applicant is expected to collaborate with team members as necessary and embody the work culture that embraces kindness, respect, integrity and love.

Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate should possess a diverse skill set that includes:

• 3+ years of graphic design experience.
• Experience or willingness to learn an online tool such as Google Drive.
• Strong organizational skills and multitasking skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with 2SLGBTQIA+ communities.

Preference may be given for:

• Experience working for positive change within 2SLGBTQIA+ communities or equity deserving communities.
• Applicants who are  2SLGBTQAI+.
• Applicants who are Indigenous, Black and/or otherwise racialized.
• Applicants with a disability.
