Victoria Pride has been following the evolving situation around COVID-19 and we thank all who have been working to keep us safe.

In light of the current pandemic, we are saddened to report that the Victoria Pride Parade, the Victoria Pride Festival and other in-person Pride Week events will not proceed this year. This decision is in line with the recent announcement by the provincial government and Dr. Bonnie Henry regarding large public events over the summer.

But while we won’t be able to come together for Pride like we normally would in 2020, Pride continues in Victoria.

We are so heartened to see our community stepping up to help and support each other in the true spirit of Pride. We know the power of community and we are looking at ways to provide spaces for our communities to safely come together during this time.

We will continue to publish the OutWrite eZine, produce our monthly newsletter and our Youth Leadership Council will continue to meet digitally.

We also look forward to celebrating Victoria Pride Week with all of you from June 28 to July 5, 2020 with a number of new and exciting online events.
